Alchemy and Signs

Using common darkroom mistakes (fogging film while it is suspended in unmixed developer) I made non representational images of the chemical process itself.

Without identifiable subject matter, the viewer is left to consider the elements of the photographic process used -  light traversing water.  The process of exposure and development is left to chance, revealing an image of a kind of primordial soup, that can be interpreted like an incomprehensible astronomical map- pointing towards unknown signs and meanings.
